Summer Sunday Brunch At FRIDA!

20 Jul

Hello FRIDA friends,

What an exciting summer it’s been. We had a phenomenal time broadcasting games from the World Cup and (as you can see below) the turnout was tremendous! But just because futbol’s over doesn’t mean the fun has to stop at FRIDA.

Every Sunday we are hosting lively brunches at our Westwood restaurant, with full breakfast and lunch menus, delicious cocktails and amazing music from Mariachi Los Toros.

In case you didn’t know, Los Toros are one of the most acclaimed mariachi groups in California. They have been featured on Univision, KCET and at festivals throughout the country. Their set list includes plenty of Mexican classics, plus special requests from the FRIDA fans.

And let’s not forget about the FOOD! Every brunch features our signature tacos, fresh ceviche, a fruit bar, custom omelettes and just about every type of Mexican favorite you can think of.

There are also a wide variety of desserts and drinks that range from sodas, to horchata, to cantina cocktails (including our new yummy Blackberry Margarita)!

Children are more than welcome at the Westwood brunch too! We have created special face painting stations and Kids Menus for them to enjoy throughout the afternoon.

So make sure to make a date with FRIDA Westwood every Sunday from 10am – 3pm for our delicious (and fun) morning brunch! Drop by or call (310) 209-0666 to RSVP!

Happy César Chávez Day From FRIDA

26 Mar

In case you haven’t noticed, at FRIDA we love celebrating legendary icons. Heck, that’s how we got our name! And this week, we thought it would be nice to celebrate a March holiday that sometimes slips under the radar. That’s right, we’re talking about César Chávez Day!

César Chávez literally changed the cultural landscape back in the 60’s and 70’s and, since 1995, California has designated March 31 in his honor. Well we thought we could honor him too, by delving a bit into his legacy (and his favorite dishes).

Did you know that César’s favorite food was homemade spicy burritos? We can’t blame him one bit, a freshly prepared burrito is delicious and we’ve got one on our menu that we’re very proud of. The Burrito Campechano has beef sirloin, rice, beans, queso fresco, and spicy red sauce topped on a soft tortilla. If César was still with us today, we’d proudly give him a lifetime supply!

Chávez’ right-hand woman, Dolores Huerta, continues to keep his message alive and we’ve got plenty of dishes to honor her as well. Huerta happens to be a proud vegetarian (as many of our FRIDA customers are), so this week we’re dedicating our Resplandor de Mango in her honor! Perhaps with some veggie-friendly Guacamole and chips?

And for all of you who are enjoying Monday April 1 as your designated CCD “off day,” we welcome you to drop by our FRIDA Brunch in Glendale. We’ll have all of favorite fixin’s on display for one special price.

Come on down and enjoy this Mexican-inspired holiday with great tasting Mexican cuisine!
