Join FRIDA For A Special Charity Event This Wednesday

17 Mar

Greetings FRIDA fans!

We hope you are enjoying the long nights and warm weather of Spring! This is a great time of year to take advantage of FRIDA’s outdoor patios (and the cool margaritas of Happy Hour). It’s also a time of year when we like to give back, which is why we’re partnering with Meals on Wheels of West LA for a very special Wednesday night event.

On March 19, our Westwood restaurant will be hosting an all-day fundraiser for this amazing organization. In case you are unfamiliar, Meals on Wheels delivers hot food to those who have lost mobility. If you’re homebound because of an injury, financial difficulties or advanced age, this org makes sure you are well fed with nutritious breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

It’s a fantastic cause and we are proud to help them in their mission. So much so, that on Wednesday we are donating 15% of everyone’s check to MoW of West LA. So for you, the donation is easy. Just come to FRIDA and order any of your favorite meals. Pay the regular price, but leave with the knowledge that you are helping some fellow Angelinos in need.

Just mention the below flyer or ask about the promotion at the door. Your generosity will be much appreciated. FRIDA Westwood is located at 10853 Lindbrook Drive in the heart of Westwood Village. You can also call us at (310) 209-0666 for further details.

FRIDA Gives Back…

6 Jan

Happy 2013 FRIDA fans! We hope you all had a safe and happy new year. As you can imagine, we had a very busy holiday season, with catering jobs, private parties and tons of Christmas tamale orders! But in between the long hours, we had the chance to do something that truly touched our hearts. Three days before Christmas, we handed out over 2,000 tacos to needy families at the Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission.

Our founder, Vicente Del Rio, was there in his trademark FRIDA apron, cooking up yummy chicken and carne dishes (and posing for photo opps with happy fans). The CASA AZUL chefs made sure to drop by too and added their signature spices to every taco handed out.

Of course, this special day wasn’t just about food. Hope of the Valley takes the charitable experience to a whole other level, with gift giving, live entertainment and big hugs from top L.A. celebs. And one of the biggest stars to drop by was the one-and-only Don Cheto! That’s right, El Hombre del Vozarrón stopped in and got the crowd roaring.

He also had a great time with the FRIDA chefs, smiling for pictures and teaching them a few of his “Ganga Style” moves. And what would a holiday handout be without the one-and-only Santa Claus? Yup, Old St. Nick made an appearance too and even sampled a few of our Tacos.

As you can imagine, this experience was the highlight of our holiday season and we hope to organize many more charitable events like this in the months to come. In the meantime, we highly recommend visiting the Hope of the Valley website to find out how you can help this wonderful organization.
